Bravo to Dr. Bar-David.
I suffered with quite a large bunion for nearly one year. Enormous pain when wearing most shoes. Dr Bar-David performed a bunionectomy in August. Recovery was 4 weeks. I now am able to wear all my shoes with complete comfort. Being a registered nurse and being on my feet I am extremely grateful for the expertise and professionalism of Dr. Bar-David exhibited. I highly recommend Dr. Bar-David for any problems with your feet. Again bravo to Dr. Bar-David.
Dr. Tzvi Bar-David performed a Bunionectomy on my foot last August and I could not be happier. My whole life I knew I needed to have surgery on my bunion since it was hereditary and causing me constant pain. My particular case I knew would be hard since my foot was very deformed looking like a woman’s foot of their seventies (really) and I am only 30.
I heard a lot horror stories through people who had only minor foot surgeries which went wrong and it really deterred me from having mine done altogether.
Besides the horror stories-I have been very fit and athletic my whole life and having a surgery on my foot was a very scary idea, especially not know how I would be after or if I would be able to do the same things I did before. The unknown is always very scary. I met Dr. Tzvi Bar David through word of mouth and met him to see his thoughts on my situation. I was incredibly surprised by his honesty. He told me what to expect before, during and after the surgery.
He even explained the choices of anesthesia. He explained how I would feel after the procedure so I could plan accordingly with my work. He even took the time to speak with my Boss-a top plastic surgeon in the city, to make sure he knew the extent of what I needed done. Unlike the stories I heard of people missing months of work due to this surgery-not true, I was able to work a week after. He really went the extra mile to make me feel confident about having the surgery with him, how to prepare and what to expect.
What I am most happy about with Dr. Tzvi Bar-David, is despite my badly deformed foot-he literally fixed it beyond what I was expecting. I am back to activity and honestly it does not even feel like I had surgery on my foot. The recovery process was seriously not bad at all; I did not feel any pain-even when I woke up straight from surgery…I am back to jogging, back to the gym and most importantly back to work feeling better than I ever have (especially since I am a medical assistant on my feet all day).
Another exciting outcome of my surgery is that Dr. Tzvi Bar-David made my foot look like a normal foot. Aesthetics of feet should not be important and was not my main concern however it has been a big embarrassment in my life and anyone having or had the same problem as me understands exactly how I felt. I am so thrilled with his work and care I am having my second foot operated on this August. Thank you so much Dr. Tzvi Bar-David and your wonderful attentive staff for getting me back on my feet (literally).
I don’t usually write testimonials but I am so happy with Dr. Bar David and his work that I felt I just had to. To say the Dr. Bar David is TERRIFIC is an understatement. About 3 years ago I had bunion surgery by another podiatrist and I vowed NEVER to have surgery again.
Post operatively the pain was horrific, not to mention the bleeding. From the beginning my foot didn’t look any different and several months later I was nonchalantly told that “oh the pins must have slipped” and to try all the methods to straighten my toe and relieve the pain that I used prior to attempting surgery. As I said I never thought I would try surgery again but once again the pain became debilitating.
Was I in luck when a friend referred me to Dr. Bar David’s office! He didn’t promise me miracles but promised he could fix it – and fix it he did so much so that I can’t believe the how good my foot looks – he did perform a miracle.. I know I drove Dr. Bar David crazy worrying about the pain I might have post-operatively, remembering the pain I endured previously. Dr. Bar David was always patient with me. And guess what!—this time there was no pain. I am so satisfied with Dr. Bar David that I am about to undergo surgery on my other foot.
PS – my husband thinks he’s terrific as well, having helped him with his debilitating foot pain via a pair of orthotics.
Dear Dr. Bar-David:
Thank you so much!!! I don’t know how you did it, but, to have a bunionectomy withOUT pain seems quite remarkable especially when everywhere I turned people would tell me that this would be a worst surgery ever!
Now, I have had the first of two bunionectomies. And even though I had a “monster” bunion (after waiting for so long to fix it), the after surgery and healing and beginnings of rehab have been incredibly PAIN FREE!
That is not to say I have not been entirely comfortable – what with using crutches and a knee walker – those items cause bruising and discomfort in other places where one wouldn’t think – and of course, foot swelling and bruising is not very nice but, believe me when I tell you – I did NOT REQUIRE any pain pills after my surgery nor have I needed any since. I am eager to finish up this last 2 weeks of crutches so I can begin to walk on it again and after the weather starts to turn toward the springtime, I will look forward to having the other foot done and have this entire ordeal over with.
Not only you, but your office staff (at the New York and Riverdale offices ) and your hospital staff were exemplary. I will recommend you and those at the Allen Pavilion and New York Presbyterian Hospital – Columbia, anytime!
Thank you!
I can literally make a side-by-side comparison as I had bunion surgery on both feet–one surgery performed by Dr. Bar-David and the other by a different doctor several years ago. The “Dr. Bar-David foot” healed in half the time and with exponentially less pain…and even LOOKS better.
I felt confident going into my surgery, knowing that Dr. Bar-David is the surgeon that many doctors use for their own feet. My friend who is a physician had her surgery six months prior. Dr. Bar-David exceeded every expectation I had. From his kind demeanor to his friendly and efficient staff, and most importantly, his artful skill as a surgeon, he made my bunionectomy an actually pleasant experience. I was able to walk just days after surgery, and my recovery is going beautifully. I can’t wait to wear my strappy sandals this summer!”
